I wanted to cut to an exterior shot of the greenhouse for this part to reintroduce the feather. I wanted to have the feather blown by the wind into the window that the gardener opens.
To start with I drew the layers of the exterior greenhouse and the interior that would be faded to look like its through the glass.

I then needed to animate the feather blowing off the roof where it landed into the open window:
I then animated the gardener by hand opening the window. Here are the keyframes:
I composited all of these together to get my final shot:
